Where will she move the Capital?

Hey, I wonder where she’ll move the Capital to … DC is too far from the rest of the country and its population. Maybe Nebraska? Kansas? Sure would be easier for people on the west coast to visit the nation’s capital if she moves it! Just wondering …

As far as I’m concerned it a good thing for Alaska! Go Sarah.

We need to support her and her family. The news about Bristol just makes her more real and just the person we need for VP.

I am a Republican but I can’t vote for this woman. Electing her would be telling my daughter that marriage doesn’t matter, God’s teachings don’t matter. And if she can’t run her family why do people think she can run the country? This is a disappointment, a HUGE disappointment. Don’t my fellow republicans understand what a mistake this is, the kind of role model this will be for our daughters? What this will do to marriage? We might as well legalize gay marriage because apparently nothing is sacred to us anymore except getting our team elected. I’m on God’s team, not this one and usually I’d go Republican because of the values they share but that is no longer the case.

Well, Sarah has a mouth and delivers the Carl Rove speeches, talks well and adds some youth to the old McCain bs. But her record is terrible as she regurgetaes all her pork. Hypocrisy thy name is Palin. And by the way- return the $227, 000,000 you kept for that bridge you use to want. McCain’s poor/great vetting process shows two thing- issues don’t matter and personalities are all important to him. All that war stuff says vote for me- I suffered as a POW fell in love with America, (tear, tear) and that just might do it- God help us.

Oh! The national capital can’t be in Alaska as Sarah is soooooo patriotic that she and the radical Alaskans will be suceeding from the United States. Where is the so called liberal media on that one?

  5. letslook Says:

I say lets take a look at her. Any reference to her daughter should be off limits. I watched my children carefully growing up and was always there for them but, I know that this could have been my kid as the mom or the dad. Those of us that don’t see that are naive. As far as marriage. I do believe that they intend to get married. It is a little more complicated with minors and not an assault on marriage. Let’s look at her policies, etc. Not her daughter nor her husband’s 22 year old driving problems. They have nothing do with her capabilities. If we are going to bring stuff up like that we could look at Al Gore’s son’s drug problems and his daughter picking him up in her “gas conscious” Lamborghini. Let’s not all be hypocrites.

its very obvious that some have never raised children, especially girls, I thought I was going to have to lock my girls up at the agr of 14, but they made the right choices, just look at the pregnancy rate at JDHS…

  7. Marilyn Says:

Yes, where will Sarah hold court? Since she got paid with Alaska state money not to be at her place of work in Juneau for 312 nights and was actually in the capital city for, would that be 53 days, it sure looks like she’ll want to be working from Wasilla while she’d be VP. Maybe she’ll telecomute, or use Cheney’s undisclosed location.

  8. letslook Says:

Does anyone think just because she is not in the office she is not doing state work? With the internet and the phone I teach web classes for a college. I am not on campus all the time but, I am working.

  9. gearge Says:

rumor has it that her son was involved in school bus vandalism and his option was to join the Army . Rumor has it that the daughter was sent to high school in Anchorage to keep her away from the negative influence of her now baby’s father????

I don’t understand why people think “having someone just like them” e.g. a neighbor
who knows what their life is like, is a good idea for a national leader. Do you really think
your neighbor, even if mayor, is qualified to deal with national issues? This woman is
going to be completely controlled by people behind the scenes telling her what to think or
believe, just like the current Pres. HOW in the world can you not see that a lack of knowledge
and intellectual curiosity is a huge disadvantage on the world stage?
Do you think the Russians or Chinese would elect “the girl next door”?

I know it’s 2008 and women can multi-task running a family and a career, but do we really want someone like her running the country? She’s already doing damage to Alaska! It’s funny how she didnt give a crap about Juneau when we had our disaster, but now that’s she’s a running mate, we get a surplus, but we are taxed on it!

She is against abortion and sex education, but she’s got a pregnant teen about to give birth! I do not agree on ANYTHING she does. She needs to be a mother first and foremost.

I thought Governors lived in the Governors mansion in the state capital because they needed to be near the state legislature? I find it confusing that Palin only spent 53 days in the state capital. I also find it confusing that she took the per diem for being in Juneau when she was at home, considering it was things like this that she went after the good old boys in her own party for. Not real smart and not real smart of McCain for not vetting her and knowing this. Although it dosn’t seem to matter.

As a woman and a feminist, I am insulted and quite frankly outraged that no one is allowed to question her or her record and is called a sexist or disrespectful. She called Hilary a whiner. If she can’t stand the heat she should go back to the snow’s of Alaska.

In answer to letslook, you’re right, some people can work from home, however I don’t think a state even one with a small population like Alaska can be run from your home computer nor could it be done exclusivly from the Governors Anchorage office. She was so unavailable, employees in the state capital were wearing yellow buttons that asked the burning question “where’s Sara?”

She shouldn’t be judged on her abilities to be vp based on whether she is a good mother or can juggle career and home, for or against. She should be judged by her record and abilities. Unfortunatly we’re not getting any info on that and she avoids questions. The only info we get is what we find on the internet and share with each other.

Here’s somthing I found about her reign as mayor. Eight months into her first term the torches and pitchforks were brought out and the populace were asking for her to be recalled. I guess they were inspired by all the firing SHE had done. The reason they used for her termination was lying about her qualifications. Apparently a bed and breakfast she claimed to have managed was closed during the time she said she was employed. She managed to charm everyone down. Does anyone know if this is true or know any of the details?

It’s also my understanding that while she was on the oil and gas commision(this is what qualifies her in foreign affairs and national security) BP, the big oil company,(excuse me energy company) Threw her fund raisers when she was running for Governor. Remember the pipeline she wanted everyone to pray for? Anyone have details on this?

Something I would like to debunk. They claim Alaska’s proximity to Russia makes her qualified for national security. Does anyone really think that Russia is interested in invading or attacking Alaska? I was born on a military base on the island of Adak in the Aluetian Islands in 1963, right after the Cuban missile crisis and the height of the cold war. My mother tells me no one there was very concerned then about Russia and they were living with their families on the closest military base to Russia at the time. As a matter of fact the government was so unconcerned by the threat of Russia invadeing Alaska that they closed down the base sometime, I believe, in the early 70’s. All anyone has to do is look at a map to understand why it would be tactically stupid to invade the United States through Alaska.

Why do the American people fall for this big pile of moose droppings?

  14. margaret Says:

Can we really afford another idiot pair in the white house?? Have we not had enough damage the last 8 years? She has no experience and her beliefs are narrow and non-mainstream. Go home to Alaska, baby!

  15. roy Says:

Give me a break….If it was Democrate that was running for VP and had a daughter that was preggers, all you republicans would attack the heck out of her! Saying she can’t control her family and all that, but since it’s a republican, everyone says “Oh, she’s a real person…” That’s pathetic.

I think the more and more I look at Palin, the less I want her as my VP! With the attempt of banning books at the library, getting all snotty with her ranking to the librarian and this State Trooper Ex-brother-in-law thing, I’m afraid she would try to pull this soccer-mom backstabbing drama in the white house and who needs that….I’ll tell you who…7th grade does.

  16. letslook Says:

The librarian has her story and “she’s sticking to it.”

  17. guyb415 Says:

Palin, hopefully will not ever deliver a family values speech, I haven’t heard one from her yet. Then again I might of missed it. My point is that if she can’t keep an eye on her kid. How is she gonna be able to keep a watchful eye under McCain. Not to mention she’s just down right dumb, thats why she’s in politics in Alaska. They obviously don’t care about who gets elected to any political chair or position. I am neither a Republican or Democrat. But I am leaning towards the Democratic due to the idiocies of Republican selections and positions on any and all political subjects. This country is already suffering from Bush. I don’t believe this country will survive if McCain is elected. It will be years of more lets go send money and troops to another country that hates us. Instead of spending money here where it belongs, so that this country can prosper once again.

  18. letslook Says:

Do you think the democrats won’t go to war over Darfur or some place of their choosing. I am not excited about what has gone on for the last 8 years but, we need to take a real look at what both candidates can and can do. How will their policies effect the economy. The Republicans have not been good watch dogs over our money with this admisnistration. Do you expect something better from the democrats? And as I said before regarding Sarah Palin’s daughter it happens in the best of homes. You just don’t here about it because they abort the baby.

  19. letslook Says:

    Sorry for not capitalizing Democrats.

  20. hot_mom_of_5 Says:

I do not want Sarah Palin in the VP position just as much as the next guy, she has thus far been a lousy Governor to the State of Alaska. I live in Juneau, I don’t believe I’ve ever seen her at the Governor’s Mansion. We pay the staff to stay on hand, a chef that never cooks, a maid that never cleans, etc. Does she think she can aid in running this country from Wassilla?
There is quite a bit of scandal that follows this woman from job positions and each government office. I believe she has on several occasions lied to the People of Alaska and went with the popular view of people outside our State to make decisions that effect Alaska not the lower 48. Bridge to nowhere!!! She knows that bridge was to Gravina, it costs $5.00 to walk onto the ferry to get to Ketchikan and $5.00 to get back to the airport per person, and $21.00 for a vehicle of 3. People who have never been to Ketchikan don’t realize that they are NOT flying into Ketchikan and it will cost them to get there. Not to mention there are no hotels on Grevina and the airport closes after the last flight. This was NOT a BRIDGE TO NOWHERE. Those of us who have to go to Douglas every day for work can sympathize, what if we had to pay to get on the ferry everyday to and from work.
It has yet to be determined if she abused her power to have her ex-brother-in-law fired, and the fact that the question has been raised should give anyone pause. If we’re thinking she sure is good a burying things now wait until she has the power of the Vice Presidency. I am a Republican, and when I have to make the choice on the 2 most powerful people in the United States Of America on election day, I’m not sure what I’ll do. Obama is 100000 times over not the man I want in power. The man isn’t even a patriot. Sometimes I think he’s a communist, or he’s a terrorist. I am scared for this country. If I have to choose the lesser of 2 evils I suppose the answer is clear and McCain and Palin will be in the White House, but I think that to simply decide to vote for a party based on less scary is scary in itself.

Even if I don’t want her in the White House, I don’t believe her ability to be a good VP should be based on weather her teenage daughter is pregnant. I believe that children do things we tell them not to do, you can’t be with them 24/7 and you just have to hope the values you try to instill stick with them when they walk out the front door. Teenagers are filled with raging hormones, heart palpatating, deep in your soul overboard emotion. You can only tell them that you don’t want them to have sex, to use protection if they do have sex and to be a sholder to cry on and an understanding unconditional loving parent when and if it all blows up in there faces. Heaven forbid that as a parent you should ever have to go through such hard times with your children, but if you do hopefully you won’t judge your child harshly nor be judged on your childs indiscresion and choice. Sarah Palin has made plenty of her own bad choices, lets judge her on those. I would hate for Palin’s daughter to believe that the Republican party didn’t get elected simply because she got pregnant as a teenager. Kids have enough issues, USA get off this little girls back, she has enough to deal with right now.

  21. hot_mom_of_5 Says:

The capital will be in Wassilla… Don’t act like you didn’t know……Heaven forbid she should leave her little community. She can’t even come to Juneau do you think she’ll go all the way to Washington DC!!!!

  22. Treehugger1 Says:

If you want this town to stay the capital then you must support the road out of Juneau and fight the environmental wackos that keep suing everyone under the sun. They have ruined the mines and now we have people laid off. It’s funny that the commie liberals are always doing things for the children. I hope the miners who have children explain who is responsible for no presents under the tree and why they can’t even heat their homes during the winter. Good job you morons for putting people out of work.

I hope John and Sarah do win. If the commie Marxist wins we will be doomed. I will be looking forward to pulling out of the Union so we don’t fall under this idiots rule.
